Parrot cages - Things to remember when buying .
When buying a cage please make sure that is suitable for the size of parrot that you have. If the bar spacing is too large for your type of bird then in might get stuck in between the bars. It is a good idea to buy a cage as large as possible but not always essential. If you're parrot is completely tame, then it will spend a lot of time normally outside the cage, climbing around and playing on top. Most birds are not active all day long and can spend several hours a day resting.
When introducing to a new cage it is best let them get used to the cage first before they are put in . It can be a good idea to build the cage in the room where the parrot is and then let the parrot get used to the cage in his own time.
You can always make the cage more interesting by adding toys in the cage and placing some of his favourite food inside. This way you will see the cage as a new toy that will be exciting for him to investigate. If you're parrot is put straight in the cage without introducing it to him he could see it as punishment. If it is the first time you have kept a pet bird then get as much information as possible from the breeder or pet shop that you are buying the bird from, about how to look after him and how to feed. If you are unsure than please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to give you advice on how to feed and look after your parrot. Some birds can give off a lot of dust which if it becomes a problem we can supply a simple air purifier which will remove all the dust from the air as well as any bacteria or viruses that could be dangerous to you or your pet.
