Lorikeet Feeding Instructions    As the Avi-Plus Special Lorikeet formula is very concentrated the following amounts are recommended: to one measure of the dry formula add five measures of water. This is best done by adding two measures of water to one measure of formula and mixing it into a paste. Then add the other three measures of water. Suitable soft fruits such as apples, bananas, pears (not avocado) and others can be liquidised and added to the liquid formula or fed whole separately. In hot weather it is better to feed fruit separately. For breeding it has been found that Avi-Plus Special Lorikeet should be used together with Avi-Plus Parrot/Parakeet for species other than Charmosyna. The Avi-Plus Parrot/Parakeet should be saturated with the made-up Special Lorikeet Nectar. Chopped fruit and vegetables are then added to this mix which can then be fed separatly from the pure nectar and water mix. Different species of Lorikeet have very different protein requirements and this method allows the parents to regulate their protein intake.
